I listen to audio blogs (aka podcasts) on my Pocket PC. I want to know if there are any media players that will normalize content as I play it? I don't mind if the player pauses in-between tracks as it analyzes the content. I don't like how some content is recorded really soft, so I turn up the volume, only to have my ear drums blasted because a song comes on right after soft spoken speech.

I'm not aware of any players normalize, which would require analysing the mp3 beforehand (or some dynamic equalizer to normalize while reading). I think a good compromise would be a built-in compressor. But I don't know of any that do that either. BetaPlayer with an appropriate plug-in would be where I would start my search. I know they just released a new version of BetaPlayer, but I don't know the status or availability of plug-ins.
BetaPlayer works well with my podcatching client.

This is not a perfect solution, but with BetaPlayer you could turn on the equalizer and pull the pre-amp to maximum (in settings dialog). This will force the eqaulizer to utilize the full 16bit range and it will dynamically adjust the multiplier if overflow occurs (works only for mp3 and vorbis)
