Ok at the moment im concentrating on being able to walk around with my ipaq and go on the internet, my options are:-
GPRS - At the moment im with BT Mobile and they dont have it out yet.
Wi-fi router - Great for home use but 500 foot and thats it.
So heres my question, im looking at this page at the moment,

Long range Wi-fi equipment, i would pay 700 pound for a router if it went the distance i need, but it says it will go up to 25km, with an amplifier and antenna, but if i didnt have an antenna or amplifier how far would it go?
The problem being is that would i get a clear signel 2 mile away without a true line of sight, probaby with 200 - 300 houes in the way. I would but it on top of my house, but would it make any difference?
Have any ideas or posibbly any expreience in this type of thing, please leave some feedback.
