Linksys Wireless Router needs to upgrade firmware?

I just bought a Linksys Wireless Router WRT54G. Is there a need to upgrade to below firmware?

Any benefit for doing this firmware upgrade?

In general, if it 'aint broke, don't fix it. However, having said that, you can get a lot of benefits from performing a firmware upgrade. If you have problems using the previous version, the upgrade may fix any bugs that ay be present. Also, the upgrade may bring performance enhancements, etc. so it's certainly worth considering. Just make sure that you follow the instructions for updating - as this procedure always carries risks.
