Hello All!
I searched the forums and the net, but could only come up with software that can control media player for audio files. Anyone know of a program that will work with a blue tooth connect between tv and pda and to stop, pause, and play dvd or video files?

I'm confused... do you want to use Bluetooth to control those devices? Or do you want to use your IR port to control those devices? I haven't seen any Bluetooth-enabled DVD players, but you could certainly use any standard (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=36435) IR Remote Software for your PDA to control your DVD player. If you're playing your DVD on your PC, there are other (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=28905) options available.

well, my laptop has bluetooth and so does my pda, so I figured that would be a better way to control video over IR. If not, then I can work with ir.

Are you referring to the control of digital video files or physical tape video? If you're referring to the former, something like PPC Tablet (http://www.amorphous-media.com/) or Rudeo (http://www.rudeo.com/) would work great for you.

let me be a little more clear. I have a laptop, connected to my sorround system and a hdtv which I use Windows Media Player to wacth tv shows. Instead of buying a standalone remote control, I am looking for software to let me pause, play, stop, and fast forward through my tv show that is currently playing

Okay, in that case, one of the two software titles I suggested earlier to you will help you accomplish those tasks. Personally, I use PPC Tablet as it supports other profiles so you're not just limited to Windows Media Player.

thanks for the heads up. So, this has to connect VIA IP address? Or will IR or Bluetooth work?

I've not tried it over IR, but it works fine over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. It does connect via IP addresses - you can establish this by creating a network connection. Alternatively, an ActiveSync connection works fine as well.
