In the last couple of days, ActiveSync has developed the "always on top" property. If the ActiveSync window is open, and I open another window that would cover it, the ActiveSync window remains visible, on top of the new window. I can even move the new window around, and the ActiveSync window stays 100% visible.
If I had just upgraded to a new version of ActiveSync, I would not be concerned. However, I am running Version 3.7.1 (Build 4034), and it has been some time since I upgraded to that. Why has its behavior changed?
My best guess is this: My desktop is set up to automatically download OS updates from the Microsoft site. Are ActiveSync patches included in these "security & critical updates"? I rather doubt this is the case, because ActiveSync 3.8 is out, so why would Microsoft "patch" 3.7.1?
Has anyone else noticed this new behavior, or have an idea why it has occurred?
