I'm a second-year pharmacy student and I need a medical dictionary for my PPC. Which is your favorite? I was looking at Dorland's

and Stedman's

Has anyone here used these? Are there any others I should be looking at? What difference does it make if it's "Powered by Skyscape", or "Unbound Medical"? Thanks for the help.

Personally, I'd go with Stedman's. I've tried the others, and I still prefer Stedman's for the quality content that it delivers.

Skyscape and Unbound are different engines with which the software runs off. Here's (http://www.skyscape.com/index/home.aspx) a link for Skyscape software, and here's one for the Skyscape edition of Stedman's. (http://www.skyscape.com/EStore/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=482) And here's (http://www.unboundmedicine.com/store/ub?cmd=catview) a link for Unbound Medicine's catalog.

Both are widely recognised and deliver high quality products, so feel free to go with either.

I would also like to suggest two of my favorites:

Merck Medicus (http://www.merckmedicus.com/pp/us/hcp/hcp_mobile_medicus.jsp) which is provided by Unbound but also allows free subcription features like Reuters Medical News, Pocket Guide to Diagnostic Tests, etc. for free. :D :D :D

Epocrates Rx (http://www2.epocrates.com/index.html) which is also free :D :D :D

Are there dictionaries included in those? I couldn't see any. If they're just drug references, our school gets Clinical Pharmacology (http://www.cp.gsm.com/) for us. I also bought Tarascon Pocket Pharmacopoeia (http://www.tarascon.com/accounts/index.php?u_function=12) (about $30/yr) because the book version is required for one of my classes.

I downloaded Merck. It is a dictionary of sorts. I especially like the journal downloads part. Thanks for the reccomendations.
