The Geekzone has benchmarks including the Toshiba e830 ... unfortunately
:(

Wow, the 830 ranks near the bottom on all benchmarks save the Whetstone.
I don't even know that the whetstone is. :?

But here is the link.

Despite the poor benchmarks, I find the e830 quite responsive. Where this device really shines, is when you have many applications open at the same time. With my X5 I used to be continually shutting down unused applications to free up memory. With the e830 I barely notice having several apps running at the same time.

The one area of performance that annoys me, is the start up time. The e830 is really slow to intialize when you turn the power on or hit a hard key. My guess is that the storage cards take awhile to initialize. I have roughly the same number of apps, installed to an SD card, that I did on my X5. The X5 was much faster starting. Anyone else notice this, or is it just me?

Have you tried the "Provide CF with power when suspended" option?

Otherwise storage cards are unmounted at each suspend and must be mounted at each resume.
