I was curious to know...
For anyone who did make it to Las Vegas, what was your favorite goodie / gadget / must-have item?
For me it was the Benq P50 and the OQO (man that thing is SWEET)...
Anyone else make the trip? And if you did, what do you want under your tree in 11 months?

Well, I didn't go, but I was most impressed with the IPTV demo on the Bill Gates keynote. Combine streaming IPTV and on-demand IPTV, both available on all devices... man I can't wait for the day that becomes reality. :D

I didn't see anything that made me go wild with desire--though if I'd known that the Motorola table at Pepcom had a v635 somewhere in that pile of identical Motorola phones, I might feel differently. That thing looks nice, and I wish I'd known about it at the time. I might have stolen it.
I met some guys from a company called eMagin, who were showing off a 3D headset--put it on, and you can see and turn your head and all that. Done before, of course, but it was a very nice headset, very sharp, light and crisp. I'd love one of those just to play with.
The IPTV demo was certainly drool-worthy. Unfortunately, it'll probably require fiber before it becomes practical on a wide scale. :P
The OQO wasn't bad, but I'm not sure about a device without a touchscreen. I don't know, maybe it's the fact that I got used to the Sony Vaio U50 while I had it, but somehow a touchscreen just seems right.
There was a little Bluetooth device being shown off by, I think, SonyEricsson, that hooked up to a TV and let you beam photos from a phone or similar straight on to the TV. Also cool.

But it does kinda have a touch screen... I mean, the stylus is magnetic, but it's definitely a touch screen of sorts. Do you just mean a pressure sensitive touch screen like the Pocket PC? And if so why?
(I'm not being belligerent here, btw, you're just the first person who had this to say so I'm curious to hear why)

True, but I just didn't feel really comfortable with the magnetic instead of pressure-sensitive system. What do you do if you lose the stylus? You can't use a generic replacement, or a finger. You'd need an exact replacement. I dunno, maybe it's just a nitpick, but I like the touch-sensitive kind.
