Can anyone offer insight as to how I can turn of the screen on my X50 while I listen to MP3's using windows media player 10? I'm trying to save battery life while I enjoy some tunes. Has anyone had any problems with compact flash cards? I'm thinking of purchasing a 512 MB to hold music, will my X50 see all 512 MB?

I can't speak to your problems with CF cards as I don't have an Axim, but in Windows Media Player you can go to Tools -> Settings -> Buttons and configure a button for "screen toggle." Pressing this button while Media Player is opened will turn the screen off if it's on, or on if it's off. You can use the un-map option to make sure your use of that button doesn't interfere with other programs while Media Player is opened but in the background - otherwise you could be typing in Pocket Word after having opened Media Player, press the button, and the screen will suddenly go blank. Again, pressing the button one more time will turn it on, but some users find it confusing (or scary!)

Thanks, that worked. However I found that option under menu>options>buttons tab.

Yeah, they changed a lot of things when moving from v9 to v10.

In short, with the 512MB, you won't get the full 512MB because some memory needs to be taken up with formatting information. You can liken it to a hard disk. Buy a 120GB HDD and format it, and all you're left with is ~112GB. With the 512MB, I'm guessing you would get around 485MB, perhaps 490MB. Somewhere around there...
