Whatever happened to AutoPC

Back in 1999 this was supposed to be the next big thing. Well here we are 2005 and no more autoPCs exist. I would love to have one in my car now. I figured with all the OS advancements we'd have some slick AUtoPCs.....but yet nothing. Am I missing something here?

It DID crash once, in, AFAIK, a Mercedes. The windows/doors wouldn't open and they had to be opened by force from the outside to save the guy inside :)
