From local news stations to national services, Pocket PC users can easily find weather information for the locale. The challenge is keeping up with a weather forecast beyond the present day and remembering it later when it is needed. The development team at SBSH Mobile Software has created not only an answer to this need but has exceeded expectations with PocketWeather."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/wey-20050112-PocketWeather.jpg" /><br /><br />Clinton Fitch has put together a review on PocketWeather - a weather application developed by SBSH Mobile Software. For those of you who have been deciding which of the many weather applications to choose from, you may want to read this review if you're in need of some guidance.

It doesn't look like a trial is available yet?

Once one appears though, this looks like a "must buy".

Hi sheik :)

Actually a trial exists, but we are now in the middle of updating our site to reflect the trial versions of our products (already finished with most of our products, but PocketWeather trial download from our site is still not ready).

In the meanwhile you can download the trial from Handango on the following URL:

http://www.handango.com/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?productId=140029

I'm happy to hear you enjoy PocketBreeze :)

:?: I installed the trial version today but I can't get any updates. Test connection completes successfully and IE works just fine but PW keeps stating "No weather data available". Played around with COMM settings and checked regional settings, still no go. Curiously, PW reports that it was last updated on 2/6/06 8:28pm. Hmm...

Try the following - go to PocketWeather Settings, select the "Today" tab, and press the "Refresh" button - does that work?

I am currently trying to track down a download issue - not sure if this is related, but will keep looking...

Mangust... you need to do a soft reset after installation. This should take care of your problem

I had the same problem using my HP Ipaq 2210/2215. The developer &amp; I worked the problem online for 2-3 days with no luck. I asked for &amp; received a refund. Then the developer released an update so I thought maybe he fixed the problem but only made it worse. NOW IT CAUSES A HARD RESET. Be careful using this program !!!

Soft-reset didn't help. When I click "Refresh" in "Today" tab of the settings menu the icon turns green but still states "No weather data available". Once I am out of the settings menu, the Today plugin still display the red icon and "No weather data available".

Can you check the time, date and timezone of your device. If they are wrong, then PocketWeather will believe that the weather data it was downloaded is out of date and will not display it.

Checked and double checked. Everything is in order. However, if I click on the settings icon (icon that bring the menu for settings, help, etc) in the Today plugin it shows:
"Last Updated 2/6/06 8:28 PM" which of course is more than a year from now. Could this be a problem?

I had this problem once. The workaround that worked for me was to uninstall it and install the new version. The latest version is 1.00.08. Give that a go.

Well, I got it working. At first I tried PW at work behind a proxy. No matter what I tried in the comms and proxy setup the update failed even though PocketIE worked. Once I got a chance to sync at home PW updated without any problems. As a result he "Last Updated 2/6/06 8:28 PM" changed to the proper date and time. And now my connection at work also works :)
I wonder if the proxy somehow mangles the time causing PW to think the data is out of date. However, once a successful connection is made and the "Last Updated..." field has the correct information, PW no longer relies on the time it gets from the proxy?
