Does PocketPC's read CHM files ?
Or maybe is there a tool to convert from CHM to other format that is supported?

CHM eBook Reader (http://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2770) does a very nice job for reading CHM e-books.

Fortunately, it can. There're some native CHM readers for the PPC:

Fast CHM Reader: http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=15687 . This is the CHM reader I've been using for long. Works great. On VGA machines, it uses pixel doubling and in forced VGA mode, unfortunately, it scrolls by always hiding one row. So, must be used in native VGA. Otherwise, OK.

The other is CHM eBook Reader for Pocket PC 2.3.1 by microOLAP Technologies Ltd ( http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=14751 ). I haven't tested it yet, but it can't be that bad.

There's another one with free source, http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=13281 / http://www.codeproject.com/ce/chmreader.asp . I haven't tested it yet either.

N.B. I've also tested Team One's Reader 3.0 some 2 years ago, but generally disliked it - much worse than the previous solutions. Unfortunately, in the meantime, the reader hasn't been updated. It's awful.

I've just finished a detailed review of all the available CHM readers. I can't paste it in here (unlike some of my new articles) because it uses HTML tables extensively, so come and check out at http://menneisyys.freeweb.hu/chm .

You might also take a look at Peter Tewkesbury's .Net version of his free .chm reader. I think that it is a lot better than his original version. I have had very good luck in using the .Net version than ever using the other. Here is a link to his .Net version http://www.codeproject.com/netcf/CHMReaderNet.asp

Yes, you must have the .Net CF installed.

And Menneisyys, have you thought about adding Peter's new version to your list? Like I said, it is much better.

Thanks for the tip! Tested and added a review; worth checking out the new version.

uBook from www.gowerpoint.com is a nice little reader that also reads chm files. It's been my favorite reader for years. The latest version is now $12, but the older versions work fine for the basics and are available on the web site.

Yeah, the latest version, released some 2-3 weeks ago, supports CHM pretty well. It has both advantages and disadvantages over the other readers - I added the review of 0.9b some 2-3 hours ago.
