View Full Version : How to disable application key temporarlly?
Hi.
I'm looking for a tool that allows me do disable application keys
temporally.
I'm often putting my PDA with a running GPS application in my
pocket. It happens rather often, that one of the application keys
cancels , stops or disables this application unexpected.
I would like to disable all not important keys before I start the
navigation program.
Any idea ?
Thanks

You can use e.g. the free ScreenLock for Pocket PC 1.2 to do this: http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=14621 .
If, however, you need the screen constant on, you'll have to use something else. E.g., XCPUScalar also supports keylocking, but it may be an overkill for you.

That seems a little odd. Normally hitting an app button just backgrounds the GPS app and starts another program, if the GPS app itself doesn't support button mapping within it. Certainly Mapopolis allows all the buttons to be remapped to useful GPS functions, or Do Nothing, while Mapopolis is in focus. Have you looked into re-mapping buttons from your GPS app?
You are right of cause. I'm sorry, I was not precise enough.
Anyway, I've found a tool which could fit to my requirements.
In the PHM Tools there is SCRSAVER.exe which turns the screen
and the action keys off.
Thanks
