I have dealt with Chinese manufactuered electronics, nor a they dependable, for example AVERATEC computers, do not honor their warranty, and it takes over 2 months to get their computers fixed.
Crappy service, Im wondering same crappy service from ASUS when and if my PDA breaks down
Anyone?

I have had several motherboards replaced using the web interface in the past few years with not difficulty. They issue an RMA, you ship the board, and they ship a replacement. It is done through thier USA reps.

I wouldn't call their lack of support a deal killer. The hardware is of good quality and rarely do any of my ASUS products fail.
I gave up on ASUS support a couple of years ago. Most of their support personnel do not speak anything CLOSE to English, and the ones that do speak English clearly enough for me to understand usually avoid answering the questions and insist on trying to call back "tomorrow". They never call back.
Unfortunately for me, I still like their products. I have to find support for ASUS products elsewhere. There were ASUS run forums, but they took those down when people were complaining about the quality of support.
They should really invest in providing support to their customers.

Wow that sucks. The whole reason I bought Asus was because their 2 year standard warranty gave me a lot of faith in their product. I have not yet had to deal with them so I don't really know what their customer service is like personally. However, the Dell and HP customer support horror stories drove me away from buying an x50v or hx4700. I guess nobody does good support anymore?
