a couple of years ago, Microsoft released a program that would display what's on a PDA screen in a window running on a PC via a ActiveSync connection. i can't remember what the program is called or where i can download it. it used to be on the old Club Pocket PC site, but now it's nowhere to be found. can someone point me in the right direction? thanks.

That's ActiveSync Remote Display, part of Microsoft's PowerToys ( http://download.microsoft.com/download/7/6/0/7606be4b-eea7-4515-83a0-81d7d9ac9ce1/WindowsMobilePowerToys.msi ).

You can make it VGA-aware with the well-known forced VGA trick, after installing the program (Windows\cerdisp2.exe).

Copy the file http://menneisyys.freeweb.hu/PAN/cerdisp2.exe.0409.mui to \Windows on your PDA.

well, the good part about the program is that it is free,
the bad, very bad part is that the program is realy slow.
i am using this program very frequently, but i hope microsoft will improve the performance

The SOTI Pocket Controller (see for example http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=39628 on it) is much faster. It's not free, though.
