I've never managed to get Vito Button Mapper working on my X50v.

It used to work well on my previous X5, but seems to have issues with my latest machine.

Someone needs to explain to me why I should buy this application while I can get PHM Keys for Pocket PC which does exactely the same for free?

It even looks pretty much the same as well as you can see:

It's not because it looks the same that it performs the same. I'm a big fan of PHM tools myself, but this is a totally different beast...

I did not try/install this buttonmapper applet yet, but only the application dependent profile could make it very useful...

Actually, PHM keys doesn't have any kind of screen taps/macro capabilities.

Not that VITO's screen tap sequence recording would really work on WM2003SE devices... I've spent quite a lot of time to assign key shourtcuts to disaabling/enabling BT/Wi-Fi on my Today screen, but, mostly, in vain.

If it works at all, can only be set for the current orientation; VITO doesn't support recording two screen tap sequences for both portrait and landscape mode, so that it would dynamically choose the right one, depending on the current orientation.

This means you need to assign TWO hardware buttons for portrait/ ladscape work if you access something relative to the bottom/right of the screen (that is, it's then when the coordinates change), and not to the top/left. The Wi-Fi / BT status icon in the bottom/right corner is just an example of this.

My second grief: upon disabling the program, it returned my button configuration to its factory default, NOT its previous, user-configured state - I had to redefine button mappings, which is, on a device that supports the Hold function (e.g. the F-S PL720) by hardware and has tons of hardware button, is pretty much work.
