How do these work? I see they are similar to a pocket pc but do not have a full size screen. Are they touch screens?

I must sound totally ignorant. The reason for this is that I am. I have no clue how they work and what they can do.

All Pocket PC phones have a full Pocket PC-sized touch screen, and have a full Pocket PC OS.

You may be confusing Pocket PC Phones with Smartphones, which are both running Windows Mobile (Windows CE) but have drastically different user interfaces. Both are pretty awesome devices if you ask me, but they have different featuresets; in short, the Smartphone has a much smaller, non-touch-sensitive screen and generally "feels" more like a cell phone, while a Pocket PC Phone feels like a Pocket PC.

Here's Microsoft's page for Pocket PC Phones (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/pocketpc/phone/default.mspx) and Smartphones (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/smartphone/default.mspx) if you want a quick overview.
