I have an Asus a620 that I adore, except for the battery. I work a 10 hour shift, sometimes longer, and I don't always have access to a plug when it starts to run down, so I'm looking into upgrading to a model w/an exchangeable battery.
After some looking, I've pretty much decided on the x30, but I'm wondering about the screen. Does anyone know of any reviews/articles or have any personal experience with both the x30 *and* the a620 screens? I've searched but haven't been able to find anything specific between the two.
I'd simply like to know if the x30 matches the a620 in color/clarity/etc?

I haven't compared the two to each other. Still, I don't think the x30 has as great a screen as the A620. The A620 indeed has a great one.

Hmmm. That's what I'm afraid of. Well, If you shoud ever see a comparison, or do one, I'd really appreciate it if you'd let me know.
Thank you for the help :)

The X30 has a pathetic battery life so even with a second battery you are looking at less run time then most machines out there that are known for excellent batterylife

Ok, so which ones are known for their excellent battery life...? I don't recall seeing any specific reviews or articles about great battery life on any particular units, but I'm open to suggestions :)

Ipaq 2210, Ipaq 3715, Toshiba e800(especially with the extended one, with the regular battery I averaged 5 houres with lots of VGA use).

I second the 2210 - it indeed consumes very little power. Just like the Asus 716 (see e.g. http://www.pocketmatrix.com/reviews/a716/index2.php ).
The e800, however, was/is quite power hungry IMHO. The PL720/hx4700 certainly fare longer with a charge.
