View Full Version : Sync specific files?
Is there any software or activesync plugin that will sync specific files in specific folders, ALSO put in specific (different) folders in my PC?
I do NOT mean the simple (and stupid) folder sync in activesync, but specifing specific files that are in DIFFERENT folders (and not in any "My Documents") and saved on PC also on different folders.
An obvious example is my vehicle logger file which is stored in the program's directory AND has a PC-side client that could use the same file synced (and also put in PC-side program's folder).
Is there such a thing?

I use MobSync. It can be programmed for synching any folder on the PPC with any folder on the PC. Moreover, it is free... The web page is in Japanese but the soft is inEnglish. You can download the last version from the following address:

Just install the software, plug your PPC, Mobsync will start with ActiveSync. You can just add one job per folder and they will be synched. It works (and much reliable than MightySync that I have had to pay... and stopped using after having lost several files).

I haven't tried MobSync, but a year or so ago I used MightySync for a while. Despite what I regarded as its rather old-fasioned GUI, it worked fine. Eventually, in the interests of simplicity, I settled for the standard AS syncing, supplemented of course by occasional direct copies of specific files, either using AS Explore, or drag and drop, or the Send To>Mobile Device option when r-clicking a My Computer entry. For major transfers, like WMA or MP3 files to CF or SD card, I use my separate card reader.
There's a review (5 star) of MightySync here:
