I found this awesome app in another forum. It works awesome with my hp 6315. I have my record button activate the app and i have the camera button disable the app. This is perfect for when you use the ghetto case that comes with t-mobile. I can't believe i have not seen this app sooner. It is suppose to work with all ppc, especially the phone edition. Thanks Mort!

here is the link to the thread, on page 3 is the latest beta of the software.

I've not tested this (http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/screenlockforpocketpc.shtml) yet, but I believe it performs similar functions.

I have tested all three of those apps by weng. They do not properly work. The screen gets shut off, but the hardware buttons are not locked. This is the only app i have found to actually disable hardware buttons while the screen is off. It is an awesome find.

Yeah, ScreenLock is indeed very cool; have been using it on my PL 720 for over a month and I'm very happy with it. Used to use Screenoff and the PHM tools before it: they didn't offer keylock.

Is the PL 720 a windows mobile phone edition device? The phone devices have the call and hang up buttons, they are diffferent from the other hardware buttons. When i tried screenlock, if i hit the talk button twice, it would call the last person i spoke to while the display was off. This was not good for me. The mortsaver actually disables those buttons as well so there is no worry of calling someone or wasting anymore battery.

ScreenLock is designed for PPC2k2/WM2003(SE), not * PE. Prolly this is why it doesn't lock PE-related buttons.

Well, in fact MortSaver (2.0 beta) doesn't lock the phone buttons on every device.
The problem is, the Game API allows to access the phone buttons on SOME devices (e.g. X/MDA II), but on others, the same DLL doesn't. It seems to be coded quite deeply in the system, and to make it worse device/vendor dependent. I.e., there seems to be no way to lock the phone buttons on every device (if there is, I'd be happy to know it...).
But to avoid both popup messages and dialing the last number, MortSaver sets itself as foreground window about every 100 ms. Unless you're fast enough to press the phone button twice within that period, you're quite save...
And since MortSaver is just a "normal" application (no strange system hacks), it works fine in combination with the system's button lock, i.e. you'd need power on + MortSaver deactivation button to enable accidental button presses.
