This MP3, WMA and OGG player now features a host of new enhancements - in particular, Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition support (with full support for high-resolution devices), smart tracking for audio books, enhanced MP3 tag support, improved search functions and a few bug fixes here and there. Oh... and it appears to handle Pink Floyd music just fine too! ;-) You can download a trial version or purchase the full version for $19.95 from <a href="http://www.handango.com/ampp/store/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?siteId=311&productId=51696&productType=2">Handango</a>. "special support for Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition (native hi-resolution devices and different screen orientation support)" Ha! Hi resolution - right. None of the skins or interfaces, today screen or main interface are in hi resolution. They all look blocky and pixel doubled. Unless I'm doing something wrong, I don't see how they can say this.

It supports high resolution, which means skins made in high resolution will work without using the VGA brute force method. If you look, it has a high-res skin in there ( Yanathin's MP10  ) as a selection..

I have to say that I really like this player. The only real issue I had with it was it only supported right handed landscape. Now, with 3.2, it supports both landscape directions. I'm sure the other new features will be useful, but that is the one that I noticed right off.

Keep up the good work PocketMind!!!

Happy Holidays to all.

Sadly, although listed as a feature since v3.0, gapless playback does not work with WMA files! This is pretty much my top need for a music player and after noting it was broken when first added to the app in 3.0, I corresponded with the PocketMind support team to try and find the problem. Unfortunately, once they had eliminated a few obvious potential problems and it still didn't work, they stopped answering my e-mail. :| Note that I've tried several different PPCs with different processor speeds, and both CBR and VBR files.

That said, I continue to use PocketMusic because the bookmark/"continue from last position on start" is quite useful, and the new variable Fast Forward is a nice addition. Good program, just wish it worked 100% as advertised...

How complete is PocketMusic's Ogg support? I'm assuming it will play Vorbis audio, but what about FLAC or Speex? I just checked Handango's info page, but it didn't go into detail.

Like I said before, go to player options and select the hi-res skin... :|

where??

In the SKIN tab under options there is no high resolution skin available to select.

the only options are

Pocket Musi mode
default

Win Amp Mode
Default pocketmusic skin
Pocketmusicclassic

Landscape mode
Default
Pocket Music classic

Are there any music/mp3 apps that support Itunes files yet? That is what I am looking for and still want. I know there is one that will allow you to stream Itunes music from your desktop on the PPC...... but any that will allow you to drop on the ppc and play them?

does anyone know how this player stacks up against the Conduits Pocket Player?

Good question. Both offer comparatively similar features, but some people prefer one or the other for better bookmarking features, snappier response times, etc.

There's no real answer to this question - it's a bit like the PI vs. AF debate. The best thing to do would be to download the trial versions of each and test it out for yourself. The trial time is long enough to allow for you to have a tinker with all the different features of the software. But both have received good reports.

Does anyone here have problem with Hardware Key Mappings option in this new version? Whatever hardware key I press would invoke the function on the Today's screen (e.g. calls out calendar), the app doesn't override it, nor does it take into key mapping settings...
