I've been thinking about playing movies on my Acer N10 Pocket PC for long journeys, so far the only way i can think of doing this is to rip the DVD onto my pc into a .avi file, then convert it to a suitable format that can be used on my pocket pc. Unfortunataley this takes up lots of space (200mb per film) and takes ages to rip the dvd and convert the file.

Does anyone know of any better/easier way of playing movies on my Pocket PC?

Post moved to Multimedia because that's exactly why we created this forum. :-)

Have you looked at some of the DVD to Pocket PC converters on the market? Here's one:

I use Pocket-DVD Studio. It's great!

You can rip DVD's straight to Pocket PC viewing format. Takes about 3 hours for a movie (180-200+MB 15FPS) w/ PIII 1.4 GB 512MB RAM.

If you have a faster computer it may be a little quicker.

I also rip them at the highest resolution Pocket-DVD Studio will allow....and they are pretty good to play back on regular TV too.
