View Full Version : Opening Pocket Word doesn't paint the screen fully?

On my Dell Axim X50v, when I first open Pocket Word, the file list opens, but the screen isn't fully painted correctly. I can see the file list well enough, but in the bottom lefthand corner, a 1 inch x 1 inch square doesn't repaint over the Today screen image (on my Today screen, I tap an Battery Pack Pro icon to open Pocket Word). So, although I see the full list of Pocket Word file names, a 1 inch x 1 inch square also has the Today screen image bleed into the background of the file list. Make sense?

This doesn't appear to affect performance at all, and the screen is subsequently repainted correctly as I'm using Pocket Word. It's just the opening file list that has a problem.

Any one else experience this?

Hmm... So the 1x1" square is essentially that area on the two screens merged? Can you provide a screenshot?

What happens if you open Pword from the Start menu? Same effect?

I assume you've tried a soft-reset.

Yes, the 1x1" square is a merged screen.

How do you do screenshots on a PPC? I've never done that before...

When I open Pocket Word from the Start menu, I get the same 1x1" merged screen effect. Opening a document, then closing it to return to the file list does not cause the 1x1" merged screen effect to repeat. It's only when I initially open Pocket Word.

Soft resets don't resolve the problem.

I get that also. There's no easy way to post a screenshot here so I'll pm you the .png file. No attachments allowed there either. Anybody hosting images so I can show him what we're talking about?

Do you have the Axim X50v, too? I wonder if it's a device-specific problem?

I'm rather glad that there's someone else out there who's got the same anamoly. ;-)

Personally, I use the Screen Shot In Five Seconds feature of Pocket Informant, then convert it to a smaller file type/size using IrfanView on the desktop.

Rob, you can send it to me and I'll put it up. :)

You can use MagicSS if you want to take screenies locally on your device, otherwise GetPDAScreen is great for taking screenies over an ActiveSync connection.
