Just curious...are a lot of Pocket PC users listening to Podcast content with their Pocket PC?

I've only seen a few mentions of it on PPC related sites.

I'm listening to podcasts!

There's a new program coming out to let you download, listen, and manage podcasts and feeds all on the Pocket PC. It's a great RSS aggregator / news reader, too.

The program is in testing now. If you'd like to take a look and give your feedback, Private Message me and I'll send you the details!

GSmith,

I've also been listening Podcasts while commuting...

Will it allow any form of bookmarking? Or at least an easy way of resuming where you've left off?

Regards,

Gilson

I was searching on "ask Jeeves" and found a few solutions from these sites.

I've been faithfully listenting to podcasts for about 2 months now, through 3 entirely different delivery mechanisms:

1. I use Doppler on my PC (http://kctofel.blogspot.com/2004/10/another-podcatching-application.html) to pull 'casts and put them on my Windows Mobile device
2. I also use Doppler to put 'casts on my Dell DJ and use a Belkin FM transmitter to listen to them on my commute through my truck stereo.
3. I use the Sage extension in the Firefox browser (http://kctofel.blogspot.com/2004/11/podcasts-through-firefox.html) to listen to 'casts on my desktop or laptop.

Gilson,

Bookmarking would be dependant on the application you use to listen. My podcasting aggregator allows you to launch the application used to listen (like Media Player, or BetaPlayer, or any other associated application). I am currently collecting tips on media players and have them all on my site that supports the aggregator, including trying to collect "special features" for use on podcast listening ("podcatching"). I would love for you to test some media players out there and let me know how they work with my program.

I'm not really advertising my site fully publicly yet, but I'd be happy to share the Url with you if you PM me.

My application attempts to handle all the file management around the actual playing, including download, download progress, launch player, delete enclosure.

JayM, thanks for the links to other options for podcatching. If you'd like to compare the programs you listed with mine, please let me know and I'll add you to the beta list.

I've been alpha testing GSmith's aggregator for over a month now... It is a pretty nice app and its podcasting capability is a feature that I had not seen previously on a PPC aggregator. GSmith has been very responsive to suggestions -- Any of you who are really interested should get in touch with him via PM and join in on the "fun"...
