Dimebag Darrell of Pantera/Damageplan Murdered

Just to let everyone know. Last night there was a shooting at a club in Columbus, OH where the band Damageplan was playing. The gunman got on stage and killed Dimebag Darrell (Formerly of Pantera). Another band member is also believed to be dead, but reports have yet to be offcially announced. Two fans in the club were also killed. The amount of those injured is unknown at this point.

Hearing the gunshots, a nearby police officer entered the club through the back door, approached the gunman, and shot him with a single shotgun blast.

A tear came to my eye and a lump to my throat when I read this. Just yesterday I convinced my girlfriend who is in college to write "Pantera Rules!" on the "Heavy Metal" Disposal bin in her chemistry class.

I wasn't a big Pantera fan, but they were certainly influential to the 90's metal scene. Four victims plus one shooter dead? Crazy. :cry:

Apparently he was let in the backstage some how and they say he might have been yelling that he was mad that Dimebag broke Pantera up.

In any case, I've heard it hasn't taken people long to put memorabilia up on ebay. :roll:

It's always sad when your hometown makes national news because of incidents such as this. Such a senseless loss of life.
