Whats the deal with tmobile internet?????

T-Mobile has closed all their open ports taht used to be able to be used for browsing using their 4.99 t-zones package. I hear WAP can still be used, but I can't figure out how, any ideas?

The processor in HP6315 is not a very fast one and I don't think you should expect too much from it. You can't compare its speed with other faster machines out there.

Yes, T-Mobile is shutting down the ports. I have been able to download my email with the $4.99 T-Zones but not surf. Last week, my DSL was down and I only had my T610 for internet access & tried to surf, but it wouldn't. I ended up getting the $19.99 unlimited package (was going to do it in January, anyway.)

Just got off the phone with T-Mobile after upgrading to the $9.99 plan failed to work. Basically, they've shut off all ports that use wap.voicestream.com. According to the rep I spoke with, the only gateway that works now is internet2.voicestream.com, which is only accessible with the $19.99 unlimited data plan.

Ah well - it was nice while it lasted.

My theory is that it'll work in certain markets and not others -- they may be shutting it off inconsistently.

You are probably right.
I talked with t-mobile and they said if I removed the unlimed data plan, I would not have internet. At least until now, I have 8)

i have the unlimited plan data and i don't have any problem. i think for the connection via gprs is ok the speed. is not a dsl connection so takes like a minute to open a page or 2 to donwload the emails so is ok for me that i have internet all day infront of me and this connectin takes me out of truble when I'm out of the computer or for msn messenger that i don't have at work. for 19$ also i think is expensive but i do not have option and does not hurt my pocket so much. also this pocket pc that i have is the best recption phone i ever had but this monday my imate mini is arriving from expansys and this audiovox unlocked is ging out on ebay. i'll post some pictures comparing with other pocket pcs cause i buy and sell pocket pcs on ebay and i expect to hae this week few

Hi Everyone-

I have the unlimited GPRS plan (the $19.99 one) on my account, and while I can get online with my laptop and iPaq h1945 via my bluetooth phone, my phone can't seem to access any WAP pages, does anyone know why? I should be able to get to WAP because the unlimited plan opens all the ports right? Just try to get to a site like wap.yahoo.com from my phone's browser doesn't work once I upgraded from t-zones to the unlimited plan and changed from wap.voicestream.com to internet2.voicestream.com. It just seems to time out when the phone tries to load the page...

Any suggestions? :?:
