Sena Dell Axim x50 series cases are offered in Black, Tan, Black-Blue, Black-Red, and Red-Camel colors. The main features of these models are: Slim Design, Magnetic closure, 2 SD card slots, ULTRA belt-clip, (Optional), 1 Multi-purpose pocket, 3 Business Card Slots, Headphone jack opening, Easy access to all buttons, Easy access to reset, Top Quality full grain leather, Hot-sync thru cradle"</i><br /><br /> <img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/image002.jpg" /> <br /><br />I do like that design that lets you sit the unit in the cradle without removing the case. Cute. The X50 cases are normally priced at US $43.99 (for the no-clip versions) and US $46.99 (for the ultra-clip versions). During the pre-order period however, they can be, well, pre-ordered from Sena's website for 20% less. That coincidentally is the same discount that <a href="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/subscribe.php">PPCT subscribers</a> get on Sena cases <a href="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/subscribe.php?&amp;ssm.set(benefit_id)=29&amp;ssm.perform(benefits_details)=&amp;">all the time</a>. (Do note however that you can't stack discounts, but 20% off is good however you get it ;-)). The pre-orders are expected to ship on December 29, 2004. Now, the important questions are; who else is going to join the X50 case party and who will be the first one to offer up a case that will fit the X50's extended battery? 8)

This case looks terrific! Will you be making a new, similar style for the A30H? One that takes the extended battery and fits into the cradle?

I had e-mailed Vaja about the them being behind in announcing an X50 case. They responded saying it was next in their release schedule, but didn't indicate when that would be. I would expect soon though.

I do like that design that lets you Hot-sync in the cradle

Somebody is showing their Palm past  Still, I miss the reliability of hotsync compared to activesync.

Nice case though, wish I could afford this and an x50v to put in it for christmas :?

 LOL, unfair cop. True, I did win a IIIc years ago, but I instantly gave it to my wife. I personally went from Psions to PPCs. I used the term as that is what it said in the press release. I have altered my text, but the press release obviously stands as is.

Still, I miss the reliability of hotsync compared to activesync.

:? From what I've seen of Hotsync, it's not all that great. I've lost data and had to go to Oulook backups when the IIIc has been Hotsynced. Syncs of any kind have inherent risks.

Back to the Sena. At the moment, this is the case I will be going for, unless I get a better offer.

I've always wondered why all the slipper cases have such a thick back.

I'd like to see a version which had little or no leather at the back (allowing extended batteries and the like, but protection for the front and (corners for drops).

Oh no - not a debate about the dark side.. :devilboy:
But closer to topic - I got a response from Vaja that the designers looked at a Magnetic closure for the Hx but decided there wasn't room.
So I'm ordering my first Sena case tonight after many years of Vaja cases. :dilemma:

Hah! I was going to say something but I held myself back. Boy what self control.

Yeah HotSynch was no pleasure. I don't know how it is today but it was never better than ActiveSynch. There are plenty of tales of woe during the couple of years I used a palm.

There! I admitted it - I used a palm. But only gave it to my wife when I went over to PPC. Unfortunatly 3 of my kids have not yet seen the light but my wife started to come around but dumping her palm and moving up to pencil and paper :D . Besides she inherited my HotSynch problems and I was alway trying to fix something so I'm happy she's using a newer technology.
