I'd preorder now, but it doesn't seem that the case will accomodate the extended battery. :(

Yeah...extended batteries can really complicate your choice of carrying case. My hope for the x50v is that one of the aftermarket companies like Mugen will design a larger-capacity battery, that is only slightly larger than the current one. That way it could fit into a regular leather case, even if it was a bit tight. (Mugen sells an extended capacity battery for the Toshiba e805 that only adds about a millimeter to the thickness of the battery.)

If such a battery never comes to be...then I guess that I am going to just have to get an extra standard battery to throw into my briefcase. I don't like how huge the x50v is with the extended battery attached.
