Avantgo 5 Beta

Hi,

Was just wondering if anyone else was using the beta of Avantgo 5?

I've installed it on my 4700 and while it no longer uses the PIE UI the new interface is pretty good.

My main problem with it is that it doesn't support VGA so everything is blurred :(

Anyone have any opinions on it?

Runs extremely slow on my Clie TH-55
On My Sigmarion with the PPC cab it runs incredibly well and does use the Sigmarions 800by480 res screen.

I'm running it fine at 640x480 on my 4705. Just installed it before I went to work tonight. Have not noticed anything being blurry, does take a little while for it to change after tapping a link, but then again it is in Beta.

Two things I already don't like about it: (1) I can no longer set it as my PIE home page, and (2) It seems to chew up a lot of memory. For now, I am going to uninstall and wait for the finished product.

There are many free programs which can do this. There's one which is run on the Pocket PC and allows you to map a Capture Screen button to any hardware button on the device. MagicSS allows you to do this. Alternatively, if you're looking for one that runs on the PC and works over an ActiveSync connection, you can use GetPDAScreen.

Are you running SE_VGA? I turned off the SE_VGA utility, set it to WM2K3 VGA Setting and now the Avantgo does look blurry.

No I don't use SE_VGA.

Avantgo isn't SE compatible. I did try applying the Tweak2k2 VGA hack but it caused all the text to over lap each other.

I did get the text to not be blurry, but it it's a bit blocky now.

Goto:
Start -> Settings -> System (tab) -> Screen -> Clear Type (tab)

Uncheck "Enable Clear Type"

Does that look better for you?
