Does anybody else think Windows Media Player 10 Mobile is still not cutting it for a music player? I like the design and all, but it still lacks the functionality. I mean, I can't even have songs from my SD and CF cards on the same playlist. When I had my iPAQ 4150, I always used PocketMusic as my music player. Unfortunately, I found out there weren't any hi-res skins for that player when I got my Axim X50v... until now.
PocketMusic still doesn't support hi-res skins, but with the help of Tweaks2k2 .NET, it works beautifully. All you have to do is download the trial version of Tweaks2k2 .NET and apply the "VGA Brute Force" option to your PocketMusic.exe file located on your Pocket PC. You don't even need to buy the program to do this because it lasts until you the patch is undone. However, buying it is still highly recommended, especially for hi-res displays. The tweaks are endless.
Anyway, once you do that, download the zip file of my skin, unzip it, and place the .vsk file on your Pocket PC in: **Installation Directory**\PocketMind Pocket Music\PMSkins\
You're all set after that! I also supplied a preview of the skin in this post so you can decide if you really want to do it or not. Basically, all I did was combine the looks of WMP10 Mobile with the layout of PocketMusic's default skin. The download links are posted below for everything you'll need.
Click here to download Pocket Mind's PocketMusic. (http://www.pocketmind.com/pmfp.htm) (Could somebody confirm if this works on the PocketMusic freeware version?)
Click here to download Tweaks2k2 .NET. (http://www.tweaks2k2.com/downloads.htm)
Click here to download my WMP10 Mobile skin for PocketMusic. (http://www.digitalphantom.com/pocketpc/wmp10pmskin.zip)
And finally, here's a preview:
