Has anyone else had issues signing into MSN messenger? I can't atm and haven't been able to for a few days. I've uninstalled it, reinstalled it, uninstalled it again, deleted anything in the registry that might reasonably be related to it and reinstalled it again, all to no avail. I can sign into Hotmail and the web messenger, and I can sign into standard messenger on other desktops behind the router as well as on my Pocket PC but not with my desktop.
One thing I've noticed is I now have the 250MB upgrade on Hotmail.
Hi, yes I've noticed this issue.
I too could log into the Web messenger. My work PC is NT4 (Yes, I know) so I have to use Messenger 5.0 so I thought that might be it, or our IT dept blocking traffic.
I installed Gaim (Open Source MSN client) and haven't had an issue since. :D

Thx. I forgot about the open-source route.
Unfortunately, 50% plus of what I use messenger for on the desktop is getting MSN alerts and afaict GAIM doesn't support them yet. I'll just stick with Messenger on the Pocket PC or webmessenger.msn.com for now.

Do you have something blocking the MSN Messenger program (e.g. firewall)?

I already checked that. There's no Kerio icon in the system tray and nothing starting with k running in Task Manager. I tried shutting down all unnecessary processes and still no go.
It appears to be something to do with the system, though. I just tried siging in with an alternative Hotmail acct I have and it wouldn't work either.
