Hey guys ... kinda of an emergency. My PPC just died on me ... I don't know what happened. I tried to turn it on at work and it wouldn't turn on. The back of the PPC was hot for some reason and I figured it was left on and somehow didn't shut itself off and the battery was dead ... but then I get it home and plug it into my charger/usb cable ... and nothing ... no lights ... nothing ... ideas???

What kind of PPC? Remove and reinstall the battery... plug it in and see if it will charge at all... maybe the battery is bad (shorted)...

Removed battery for 5 minutes ... put it back in ... nothing. Its an iPAQ 1945. If I plug in the iPAQ without the battery ... will it be able to turn on? If it is then my ppc is fzucked

I don't know about trying it without the battery -- I don't think it would work... I've never heard of an iPAQ doing what you've described -- I've heard of them having the battery drain overnight and requiring a 8 to 10 charge to recover...
Sorry... :(

first try another battery, see if that works, if it works then you know it's the battery and you could replace it but it just don't respond, you may have to look into trying to get it repaired at maybe pocketpc tecks, if not you may be faced with having to buy another one, i don't want to seem negative or anything, but good luck. 8O

You can run these devices connected to the mains without the battery in place, try that first and if it powers up then you have a shorted battery or a damaged battery connection which is less likely.
