Who makes the Dell X50v?

For example the great design of the Compaq IPAQ 1945 (I think the 415x) was really created by HTC.

The New line of HP IPAQ's (which totally suck) are designed by HP.

Does dell actually make their own PDA's?

Or is it outsourced?

It's outsourced. I'm not exactly sure who made it, though I'm sure someone here does. All I can say is the battery in my X-50 is physically identical to the one in my 4155. It does not appear electrically identical, possibly differences in contact assignments.

I believe it was designed by HTC.

It is HTC - in fact, Jason just made a similar post to this one a few hours ago: http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=302052#302052

Thats interesting to know. But it explains why it's a good device. I know that most companies don't build their own things but I assumed they did design them.

Makes you wonder what ammount of input Dell had in this.
