I know I got a bad hx4700 today. The record button is stuck down (in the OS, not physically). I'm seeing a couple of other things that I think may also be defects, but I'm not sure. Can someone with hx4700 experience clear these questions up for me?

- No "enter" on touchpad. Seems like this should work, so you can "click" on objects in cursor mode. Nothing happens on mine. As well, I ran the iPAQ Self Test and it seemed like the red arrow was pointing to the middle of the touchpad, but I couldn't trigger whatever button press it wanted.

- VGA-aware applications with check-boxes or radio buttons are broken. I can't tap on any check-box or radio button if it is true VGA (not QVGA blown up). This shows up in MultiIE and Resco Explorer. This has got to be something wrong with my iPAQ right (otherwise I assume there'd be a post or 300 about this)? Interestingly, when I tap'n'hold over the box / circle, they expand in size 4x.

I've hard-reset the iPAQ at least 6 times trying to isolate / confirm these problems without a change. What a bummer. :(

Just a couple of comments. 1) In cursor mode, I have to double tap on the touchpad to simulate the 'enter' functionality. It works consistently for me in this manner. 2) This may sound really obvious but I have to ask. Are you using the correct version of Resco Explorer? I've seen issues where I couldn't close the app, but it turned out I was either using an old version or I wasn't using the WM2003SE compatible version (even with the later versions, Resco maintains two different versions depending on whether your're using SE or not).
