At the low cost of only $2000. (Actually not bad for the genre). I am not excited about the "proprietary software from Sony to enable handwriting recognition and other features similar to those found in Tablet PC based products." I also don't note any mention of BT, which would have been nice to pair this with a BT mouse and keyboard.

Sony's stubbornness AMAZES me - they always try to go their own way rather than paying Microsoft the extra $2 per license or whatever to get the Tablet PC OS. They did the same thing with Windows Media Center Edition - they tried their own thing first, it failed, and now they're doing an official MCE 2005 device. Exactly the same thing will happen here. Sony just doesn't get it, which is why Samsun is eating their lunch in so many markets.

and the price is too high for such resolution and screen size!

I dont' think this device is for the person that askes "is it worth the money?". It for the person that says "wow, cool, where can I get one?".

I'd never buy one, for $2000, i'd buy a laptop, but if I had the cash to burn, i'd buy them both.

i mean, take a look at it...

youve got a device that weighs 550g, and only has 4 hours of charge... you want to up it so you get extra batteries... then you are approaching the realm of notebooks then... but you then, you are still not quite close to having a notebook because your keyboard is "dismembered" - if you want to use it you have to lug around it plus connection cables...

also, unless you buy straight from sony style - you get a measly model that has a less powerful processor, and less ram... what gives? we all know that buying straight from sony style has the prices already jacked up... not mentioning the already high cost of this geek toy...

nah... as for me, this is a notebook trying to be a pda but is not yet getting there... shall we say, sony is testing the waters?

I have personally banned that brand from my households, until they decide to play nice and drop all those proprietary junks that they are so charged up about.
