i am thinking of buying the new linksys Wireless-G Internet Video Camera but reading from the website on specs... i will need to use Internet Explorer 5.0 and above and Active X plugin.
Can i hack my ipaq 5455 to do that?

Yes, you can change your registry (or use a program to do that for you) to make PIE appear as IE6. However, the reason it may require IE5 is because of javascript refreshes, or Java requirements. I've only seen a Linksys wireless video camera once, and don't remember much about the web interface. Maybe someone else here has one.

so you actually was able to view the webcam on your pocket ie and it worked? No, sorry, guess I wasn't clear. I've only used one at someone else's house - seen it running on his computer for about 10 seconds. I'm just saying you may run into some problems even with changing the reference from PIE to IE6.

I think the main roadblock here is the ActiveX requirement. Since Pocket IE does't have support for ActiveX controls, the camera likely will not be viewable on a Pocket PC. A friend has a D-Link cam that also requires ActiveX to view. Personally, I hope more people move to alternative browsers so developers will not write software that only works with Internet Explorer.
