Toshiba will provide replacements for defective parts used in some 650,000 notebook PCs. "Under certain conditions and when used in combination with certain other components," Toshiba says, "[the faulty parts] might potentially cause blue screens or intermittent PC lockups, or undetected memory

Toshiba Corp. said Monday it has found that faulty memory parts were mounted on some of 26 notebook personal computer models it sold between April 2002 and January 2004 in Japan and abroad.

In order for users to know whether the defective parts are mounted in their PCs, they need to run a program either downloaded from Toshiba's website or in a compact disc that they can obtain by calling Toshiba. If the program detects the problematic parts in their PCs, the company will send replacement components to users.

Be sure to download the program and run it on your toshiba laptops :)
