It's kind of neat to watch the population grow (rather quickly, too). I don't know if it will stay on the today screen (I have so much other junk on there), but kind of neat, nonetheless.

Well, it seemed pretty nice until I tried to uninstall it, That process fails because it's trying to remove two fonts which it can't.

Windows\Fonts\mytoday.ttf
Windows\Fonts\wingding.ttf

It kind of ticks me off because I just did a hard reset and reinstall of all my software last week to clean things up. Now I'm already stuck with a program that I can't remove :(

Anybody know if it looks right in true VGA?

Try this.

1. Disable the Today plugin and make sure there are no icons to start the app in \windows\startup

2. soft reset

3. run the uninstall

4. if #3 fails, rename the two fonts to fontnames.old and soft reset again.

5. run the unistaller AGAIN and manually delete the two defunct font files.

Getting rid of today plugins can be a bit difficult.

When you uninstalled it, did you disable the today item first? You can always try soft-resetting to see if that will "release" the file from use, and then try deleting it in File Explorer or through ActiveSync.

When ce boots is loads all the font in the windows and windows/fonts directory. Changing to extention on the font and rebooting will allow you to delete them. The uninstaller won't remove them because they now have different names but you will be able to run the uninstaller and then remove the fonts from a file explorer.

That's true, but it won't load it unless it's actively being used. Even after multiple soft-resets, if the font file is not used, it can be deleted in File Explorer without any problems. You can actually try copying a font file to the \Windows\Fonts\ directory, soft reset your device, and try deleting it and it will still work.

However, with respect to the fonts that gregmills is trying to remove, if the PPC still thinks that these leftover fonts are being used, then yes, there will be problems experienced.

I had already deactivated the plugin and tried a soft reset. Renaming those two fonts was the thing that finally did the trick.

Thanks guys! :way to go:
