First of all,nice site!
Next I want to state that my first question deals with my Pocket PC Phone Edition that I have from T-Mobile. This phone was purchased almost 2 years ago before the release of PPC 2003. At the present time T-Mobile has yet to release the upgrade to PPC 2003 for this phone so I'm wondering if anyone here has had this problem and found a way around it? Or do I have to sit and wait for these guys to decide on whether or not to release it?
I have my own Exchange 2003 mail server and Outlook 2003 running on my internal network so I'm not able to use most of the new features in 2003.
This phone:
Model PW10B1

TIA

Hi marvinc, welcome to PPCT! :way to go:

For legitimate reasons, there isn't a "workaround" for this. The best thing to do is to sit tight and hope that an update is released in the near future.

It used to be available, but only for a limited time. I'm not entirely sure what's happened there. Have you tried contacting the vendor?

I don't think I've ever bothered to find out who manufacturers this phone. I'll have to add that to my things to do list for today.
I read the posts from various forums about the problems that were encountered by some who installed it and T-Mobile confirmed that was why they pulled it. I was hoping that something would've changed by now or that someone would've "cracked" it or found a solution.

The general move from PPC2002 to PPC2003 was last year. At that time the manufacturers of Phone Edition devices were busy getting the next generation of hardware out (XDA2 etc). Some of them did evaluate putting out a 2003 release for the older devices, but most didn't do it.

So far as manufacturers are concerned, this is now ancient history.
Since then 2003SE has come out - most manufacturers aren't doing upgrades for that either - and there are two new hardware variants on the horizon. I reluctantly have to conclude that 2002 to 2003 is never going to happen for these devices; no-one has been even thinking about it for a year. There wouldn't be enough market to justify producing it. :frusty: Everyone who really really wanted the new operating system has already bought a new device with it.

I'm in the same position as you Marvin, having bought an XDA1 in September 2002. My thinking now is to skip the second generation and wait for the new hardware devices with 200SE on - I want that landscape screen for web browsing and Excel.
