http://www.geekstuff4u.com/

Daimaou, of Akihabara News fame, has just started something that may be potentially dangerous for the hardcore gadget fans amongst you: a purchasing site that gives you the opportunity to import Japanese gadgets, much like Dynamism but more focused on handheld technologies.

Right now, the selection's a little limited but there's already a bunch of cool toys, and they're working on expanding their selection quickly. They'll be supporting multiple languages (not just English), and will even support keyboard localization on request and can try to do special orders as well. Admittedly, many of these things aren't going to be cheap, but if there's that something special that's only usually sold in Japan that you absolutely want, you'll want to check these guys out.

I got really exited at first when I checked the price for the latest Sharp Zaurus: only 649.00EUR while Dynamism wants $899 for the same device. A huge diference! Then I switch over to view the price in dollars: suddenly the once so cheap 649.00 became 818.00!(which is still cheaper than dynamism, but then again the dynamism version is in English)
I had no idea that the value of the dollar in comparison to the euro was so low! I've always thought they were worth about the same.
Anyway, the moral of the story:If you think the price is too good to be true, check what currency you're using.

Hi !

This product can be changed into English we know that and we will offer it, BUT since we didn't had this product in hands so we don't want to raise clients expectation before we could be sure that it will be 100% changed in English :)

Sweet! that's just saved me sending you an email :)

I'd advise putting that info. on your website, it looks at the moment like you'd just be getting an out-of-the-box Japanese model which would be no use to me whatsoever!

Wow, Great! A good concept of focusing on mobile gadgets with conversion services, too! Best wishes to you, Daimaou.

I do also want to raise the awareness to those brave souls (or those who can manage Japanese) that if you're looking for a straight import, PriceJapan.com www.pricejapan.com should also be on your list. I myself am not affiliated with them and in fact, have not order anything from them, but from other testamonies posted on the net (especially those Sharp Zaurus users), their services are also good.

Hey,
Not really PocketPC, but did anyone notice the Sony U50 UPPC is about $500 less than an OQO.

Just thought that was kind of interesting.

SONY Drop the Vaio U, they won't provide a second batch of these PC, and it is now impossible to buy a Vaio U70 (Pentium M) and it is getting harder to find a U50 at good prices... :?
