If you head down to the BetaPlayer website, (http://betaplayer.corecodec.org) you will find the new version of BetaPlayer, 0.093a, has been released. You can download it from here. (http://corecodec.org/frs/?group_id=9&release_id=57)

Also, the webpage has a new BetaPlayer benchmark summary which you can access here. (http://shintak.japan.webmatrixhosting.net/blogs/articles/667.aspx) It's nice to see benchmarks for all the Pocket PCs we always rave about. Now to find out which one delivers the best performance. ;)

It's great Picard. :way to go: I can't tell you the number of threads I have read with people wondering what kind of performance they get with BetaPlayer on different devices. This little table pretty much sums it up. :D

Picard,

Thanks for keeping this page (http://www.exceed.hu/~picard/betaplayer/) updated with the latest releases. For some reason I still can't get to the CoreCodec site.

For some reason I still can't get to the CoreCodec site.

Try this: Click on Start --> Run
Then type in: cmd.exe

From there, type in: ipconfig /flushdns

Try accessing the CoreCodec website again. Hopefully that works. :)

I don't think it's a DNS issue. It's been like that for a month. The site is just timing out for me. I tried what you suggested anyway though. It didn't work ;)

How is beta player compared with Pocket MVP?

I personally found MVP video a bit smoother (at least in the last version). Are there are other plugins/codecs available for beta player like they are for Pocket MVP?

I'd like to have just ONE video player which plays MP4, WMA, MPEG, (and if possible, QT). Is that possible right now?

Cause currently i can only play MPEG wiht pocket TV and WMA with beta player or pocket mvp.

There are constant updates for BetaPlayer being released. I haven't tried PocketMVP in a while, but development on the project has recommenced in recent times so you may see some updates for PocketMVP being dished out from time to time.

BetaPlayer does support plugins for file formats which you can find on their main page. (http://betaplayer.corecodec.com)

Give BetaPlayer a go (I would personally try the 0.093a release, despite the fact it's being labelled as unstable, because it really isn't unstable...well not when I've used it anyway). If you don't like it, you can always revert back to PocketMVP. ;)

Though Beta Player has more or less replaced PocketMVP as my application of choice... it still resides on my PocketPC.
