While Remote Desktop might work for some, if it's nonworkable for you due to firewalling or unavailability of Windows XP, check this solution out. You can go <a href="https://secure.logmein.com/dmcq/controlpda.html">here</a> to directly start creating an account.

a couple of question -

1. does it support VGA ? GoToMYPC does, which is good.

2. can you do file transfer or synchronization from the Pocket PC to a PC or just PC to PC. GoToMyPC doesn't allow this from the Pocket PC and it would be the reason I would consider switching.

3. is the free version slower than the pro?

4. how good is the security.

A FAQ on file/folder synchronisation can be found here. (https://secure.logmein.com/go.asp?page=support_faq#filexfer-02)

4. how good is the security.

More details pertaining to security matters can be found here (https://secure.logmein.com/go.asp?page=security) and in their Security White Paper, here. (https://secure.logmein.com/wp_lmi_security.pdf)

"With a free trial or a paid LogMeIn Pro subscription you receive 500MB of free Click2Share™ bandwidth usage each month."

Only 500mb transfer each month. If you use it extensively, you could probably easily use that up. :(

It runs in your browser; no separate PPC application. So it should natively work in "VGA" ('true' or otherwise).

3. is the free version slower than the pro?

I doubt it. The product differentiation is made quite clear, and I've seen no reason to suspect it is any slower (haven't actually tried Pro).

I use a program called Remotealy anywhere. I haven't taken advantage of it's pocket pc functions because my pocket pc is wifi yet. But it is suppose to work well with a pocketpc or palm.

You can download this program at http://www.remotelyanywhere.com/.
