Hello! I'm a relatively new to Pocket PC-er, and would like to get my Hotmail account on my Pocket PC using Pocket Outlook. My device is a Dell X5 and I'm running Pocket Pc 2002. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks! -David

Windows Mobile only allows for POP3 or IMAP accounts - Not web based accounts like Hotmail or Yahoo. The way that I have accessed Hotmail on my PPC is using a WiFi card and accessing it through Pocket Internet Explorer while connected to the internet.

Of course there may be third party software that may be available to access Hotmail but I'm not sure. Haven't really looked into that possibility.

The real question is, how do you view GMAIL on PPC?

well one way that you could do it is by adding your hotmail addy to your outlook and when outlook syncronize with hotmail, the mail is then sent to your hand held.

give it a try tell me if it works.

There's no easy way to do this at the moment (well securely I mean), but rest assured that Google are working to produce a more simpler UI for mobile device access.

However, you can always use Terminal Services Client to gain access to a remote PC and open up Internet Explorer (or any browser for that matter) and access the Gmail site from there. You then login and do your email business as per usual.

Actually that doesn't work. Outlook has supported HTTP mail, like HotMail and MSN Mail, only since Outlook 2002. It does this be establishing a secondary iHotmail nbox structure in Outlook, not by loading those messages into the standard Inbox. Only the main Inbox syncs, so none of the HotMail stuff comes over.

Http Mail is the solution, or subscribing to the new Pocket MSN. The former is cheaper (or will be when the Pocket MSN is no longer in free trial status), is permanent, i.e. not a subscription, and works just as well.
