As a Yankees fan, it's a bit painful for me to say that, but they clearly played better the last 4 games, and deserved to win. Lots of second guessing is possible, but too late for that. :P

That's as far as I can go towards being generous towards the Sox, though. I'm going to be an NL man for the World Series, and hope whomever wins the NLCS goes on to win the WS. Remember 1986 -- the Curse doesn't work against just the Yankees... ;)

I've been backing the Sox through the ALCS, mostly out of pity. I wouldn't mind seeing them lose the WS to the Cardinals too much, since I like the Cardinals, but if the Astros win the NLCS then the Sox must beat them. Texas must lose!

I'd have said that if anyone but the Red Sox made it to the WS. Now, I have to root even for Houston. :( Even with Jeff Kent. Sigh.

Hey... even the Cubs haven't lost a series they were up 3-0. Only three teams in American sports history (i.e., amongst all sports) have ever come back from a 3-0 deficit: two in the NHL, and the 2004 Red Sox.

Yeah, but this is ONE incident. Not a lifetime of suffering with the brief respite of 1998.
