I am considering buying a voice recording application to record lectures as the built-in Notes program is too primitive and not user-friendly. I tried doing a search and didn't come up with much. I do know of Vito's recorder but I wanted to see what other options I have.
Thanks in advance

Try Resco (http://www.resco-net.com/homepage.asp) Audio Recorder.

I just remembered this one in the last minute: Pocket Dictate (http://www.nch.com.au/pocket/)
Hopefully, those two will expand your options.
Freeware 'Note M' at: http://www.zavorine.net/wince/mp3.htm
"MP3 Voice Recorder for PocketPC 2002/2003. Voice Notes Recorder with MP3 encoding (NoteM) was implemented as an alternative to built-in Notes application’s voice recording feature. It gives you approximately 5.5 compression rate (for Low bitrate option) as compared to Notes default recording mode (8-bit 11.025kHz mono PCM), with the same (or even better) perceptual quality. Higher bitrates are also available (you can even record music). The user interface also was implemented as similar as possible to Notes GUI."
