News media reports Dells new MP3 media player is smaller than a deck of cards and just as good. Amazing that the article used a picture of the PPC X50v.

So is the X50V now an Ipod killer? :?

I think they probably just put the wrong picture on the story. It refers to a product called "Pocket DJ" which is probably these:

Except the Dell DJ has been out for quite some time, and it's bigger than most decks of cards I know of. Is there a new one coming up?

Cool. Wonder if they are going to be MP10 'aware', as in allow the autosync stuff. Guess I could read the articles, though.

Actually my X50 is going to be an ipod killer. With a 4G microdrive it should be sufficient for most of what I want to do with media, without having to bring a second device.

As long as you get the extended battery. ;)

Ofcourse ...

But then again ... i have a 30gb mp3 player, the thing was advertised as 7 to 8h playback ... yea right ... 3.5h at max :( Even with default battery, the x50v is able to keep up with my old player ;) Btw: that old mp3 player, it had a 1800mA battery ... 1800mA ... 3.5h max ... :( :(

I'm going to have to do some battery tests to restore your confidence, aren't it? With the screen off, the X50v should be able to do at least 6-8 hours of audio playback...I hope. ;-)

How long can it play video with the screen off?

Show me an iPod that can play video and I'll answer your question. ;-)
