Here is my dilemma. I bought an ipaq 2215 several months back and have loved it. The only problem I am having is with the scroll button on the bottom of it. For some reason sometimes it works and then it wont or you just have to push on it super hard to make it work. I took it back to best buy (I bought the replacement plan) to exchange it but the only ipaq the stores around me carry is the 3115.

What should I do keep my 2215 or switch it for the 3115. I would really like the integrated wireless but im kind of worried about downgrading from 400 to 300 mhz processor. Does it really make that much of a difference? I basically use my ipaq for contact, calendar, reading books, and wireless stuff (listening to music, instant message, email and browsing). My service plan is up in a couple weeks so I need to decide what im going to do.

you may notice a speed difference but it wont bother you. for standart tasks, i am sure both units will operate just fine. pick the one you like most

Would it be a direct swap between the h2215 and the rx3115 or do you have to pay the additional money to make it balance up?

These are my thoughts, regardless of processor power, camera, VGA, etc:
You can read about it here. (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=33244&highlight=) So unless you can't avoid the upgrade, I reckon you should just hold off for now and stick with the h2215.

Yes it would be a direct swap.

I like my 2215 i just figured if i could upgrade to a new model for free with integrated wireless, why not? other than the slower processor.

Go for it! :D

The Samsung processors are very efficient anyway, and you will hardly notice the difference.

Although one point I did forget to make:

Remember that the rx3115 does not have a CF slot, unlike your h2215.

Does this concern you?

If you feel as though integrated Wi-Fi makes up for this, then you may as well go with the offer. Plus you will also get WM2003SE and a camera on top of all this.

Does this concern you? Nope i dont have any CF cards

I want integrated wireless and WM2003SE i just didnt know how much difference there is from the 400 to 300 mhz processor. I also havent see to many reviews on the 3115 so i didnt know if it was any good.

and a camera on top of all this I dont think the 3115 has a camera.

Sorry, my bad. I keep getting it confused with the other rx3000 devices.

I traded my Viewsonic V36 in for the rx3115. I lost a camera and gained WiFi and BT. HP makes a camera for the expansion slot if its a big deal - kinda bulky looking though. I am much happier with the 3115 - my only complaint is the lack of accessories, I can't find an aluminum case for the life of me. The whole Nevo media package is pretty cool too.

I have the exact same situation with my 2215/Best Buy.

FYI, the 4705 is in their system and the local store says they might be available in about three weeks. That's probably what I'll do with mine. Again, FYI.

Just as a side note, your iPAQ comes with a 1 year warranty from HP. If you are having equipment problems call HP, they will quickly send you a box to send your iPAQ to them then they will fix it and have it back to you in 3-5 days.

My D-Nav button was doing the same thing, only it was unresponsive to the left, not down. But I called them and they put a new main board in it and I had it back in 4 days.
