Our server is creaking and groaning because we're getting absolutely slammed at the moment - so things will be slow to load. Please be patient with our sorely overwhelmed server... X50 review coming right up!

I would assume this is caused by people refreshing their browser every 2 minutes or so waiting for your review  (don't look at me... I do it every 30 minutes only)

Thanks for the excellent review Jason. FYI, some of your HTML tags are missing brackets causing some missing formatting. Also, you mentioned that the X30 lasted 4:47 in a battery test you did, but I'm wondering if you meant 2:47 (which would make more sense with the test conditions you'd mentioned).
Anyway, keep up the good work!
As someone once said to me

LMAO

Woah... am I in the twilight zone? I just read the review and went to comment on it and now the review is gone and this topic is here instead.

That's 'cuz he's still putting the finishing touches on the review, but couldn't reschedule it because the server is acting up a bit.
Sigh.
Stay tuned. We're working on it. The review will be back real soon now.

I can't help it! Anticipation of a device like this is enough to drive me wild on its own, but the teaser about how low RAM (for a high end device, anyway) is not an issue on this device is just too much. I throw myself on the mercy of the server cache!

I read it before it disappeared. Shame theres no battery benchmarks - that was my main concern with the 1100 battery.

Aximsite (http://www.aximsite.com) has their review of the X50 up. (might help to take some load off this site :D )

The review wasn't meant to go live, it's this @*()#&@#ing server being so overloaded, I wasn't able to change the timestamp on the review. Trying to fix it now, but our server is dying...

The Aximsite review benchmarked it at 2 hours 2 minutes for wi-fi and 2 hours 40 minutes normal usage (both at max brightness).
bargainpda said this:
Max. brightness, processor active - 3 hours, 59 minutes X50 Advanced: 2 hours, 43 minutes X50v
50% brightness, processor active - 4 hours, 25 minutes X50 Advanced: 3 hours, 26 minutes X50v
50% brightness, wireless on - 5 hours, 52 minutes X50 Advanced: 3 hours, 44 minutes X50v

Yes I saw that afterwards. Well that kills the X50 for me. Far too short battery life. If the extended battery doubles the life its still too short especially when it will probably stick out too.
Definitely no X50 for me.

I'm not sure what kind of server Pure Pockets is running on, but we have a dual Dell Xeon 2.4 Ghz machine with 2 GB of RAM and twin 73 GB SCSI drives in a RAID array. That's a pretty big bat, but it doesn't help when you have 5000 baseballs coming at you. This server load and review has made for a very stressful warning, so I don't particularly appreciate your comment. :?

It may have been just a joke but it sounds like Jason is stressed the heck out. Lay off.

We all had the same press embargo time, so other than me being a bit slow, no site should have "beaten" another site in terms of the exact time it went love. I notice BargainPDA doesn't time-stamp their reviews...

Looks like aximsite, geek and bargainpda were posted just after the hour, but none of those site gets the traffic PPCT does.
Can anyone remember more hype about a single PPC? Maybe the X5?

The original iPaq 3600 series got lots of hype. Of course that was really before community sites like this one, and all the hype was on Usenet.

This is the slowest I've ever seen PPCT, but it's still not that bad. Pretty good server you've got running this. :way to go: Hope the issues are resolved soon. :D
