I am looking for some advice to solve a problem I am having with my new job.
I observe teachers. During my observations I am required to fill in bubble sheets that note the type of activity I am observing (lecture, independent study, and so on) and the time the teacher is involved in this activity. During this time I am also supposed to take notes on what I see.
This is all very cumbersome. I want to design software that will accept stylus strokes that log the type of activity and that will time the activity automatically.
For example, once class begins I want to be able to press a button corresponding to "Beginning of Class." At the same time, I want an internal timer to begin timing.
Once the teacher begins lecturing, I want to be able to press a button corrsponding to "Lecture." The timer will then begin recording the time the teacher is lecturing and, at the same time, log the time the teacher spent on her introduction. And so on.
At the end of the day I would like the results tabulated in a spreadsheet, such as Excel.
Does this sound like a job for Flash Lite? If so, can anyone recommend a device? What about the necessary product specificiations, such as memory. I am a novice Flash developer, but an experienced Director developer. Once I settle on the appropriate software and hardware, I think I have the skills needed to get the job done. But I am completely new to mobile devices.
