Memory
RAM: 64MB SDRAM
ROM: 128MB or 64MB Intel® StrataFlash™ ROM
Did we know that before? I was thinking it had 128MB RAM, but I haven't followed the x50 very closely.
Think I'll keep my order for the iPaq hx4705. Both look like nice PDAs though.

4.7 x 2.9 x 0.7"
119 x 73 x 16 mm
You've got a little problem here, because 16 mm is roughly 0.63 inches, not 0.7.

Don't shoot the messenger; those numbers are straight out of the PDF. Looks like they rounded up...

Ah yes, I see now. Sorry, hadn't looked at that bit before.

:( So its official. No 128MB version. Why Dell why? They prob knew they would still sell this model like hotcakes anyways. ;) :?

The manual has the depth of the X50 as 16.9 mm (0.67"). Either the PDF linked to above or the manual has it wrong.
Either way our VGA comparison chart (see link in my sig.) has now been updated to reflect the couple of new bits of available info.

Well, you do still have 140 MB of available memory, and dual expansion slots.

I'm pretty sure it's 0.63, and that the manual is incorrect.

Possibly - currently however the official evidence is equal for both. Annoying really.

Anyone know FOR SURE if this thing is Consumer IR? PDAGeek states it is, but everywhere else doesn't mention it (I don't see anyplace that says it doesn't, they just don't say either way).

Dell claim it is standard SerialIR.

Actually, the Dell docs that I have say it's CIR, and it comes bundled with a trial of Total Remote just like the X3 and X30. I'll test mine later today if I get a chance, just to double-check.

All I know is that the info released last week from Dell reps, plus the on-site specs ( http://www1.us.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/axim_x50v?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd&~tab=specstab#tabtop ), the manual ( http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/aximx50/en/index.htm ) and datasheet ( http://plutoniumshore.com/BBSpics/Aximsite/PDA/AximX50-X50v.pdf ) - all say Standard IR (115Kbps) - in other words SIR.[/url]
